The cruise itself was beautiful, well-organized, and seamless from start to finish. The staff on board were warm, attentive, and made everything feel comfortable. What elevated this experience was our incredible guide, Ahmed Boghdady. Ahmed is more than just a tour guide! His knowledge of Egyptian history was exceptional, and he brought every site to life in a way that felt engaging, meaningful, and easy to understand. You could tell he is passionate and incredibly educated. Beyond that, he is attentive and genuinely cared about our experience. Whether it was coordinating logistics, helping us with personal needs around town, or making sure we were comfortable at all times, he went above and beyond. He seemed to know everyone everywhere we went, which made everything more personalized. And as a bonus, he is an amazing photographer! If you are considering a Nile cruise, I cannot recommend City and Sea Adonis enough. And if you have the opportunity to have Ahmed Boghdady as your guide, you are in the best hands. While the ship itself shows some age and the cabins are a bit dated, these details quickly faded into insignificance in light of the remarkable service, atmosphere, and overall cruise experience. The crew is the heart and soul of this ship. Mr. Salah in Housekeeping ensured our cabin was always spotless and comfortable, attending to every detail with care. He went above and beyond as in when he realized my largest suitcase was seriously broken by the airline on arrival. He said he could find someone to fix it - I looked at and said "no way". He found someone in Aswan and in one day my suitcase was miraculously fixed - for $6 USD. Miracle worker! In the dining room, Mr. Ahmed provided attentive and gracious service, making every meal feel welcoming and unrushed. Mr. Abdullah at the bar added a relaxed, friendly energy to the evenings, always remembering preferences and serving with a smile. The culinary offerings were a highlight throughout the cruise, led by Mr. Sabry, whose food choices were varied, well-prepared, and consistently satisfying. Meals were something we genuinely looked forward to each day, with a balance of local flavors and familiar options. Equally memorable was Mr. Mohammed, our guide and teacher, whose deep knowledge, clear explanations, and passion for Egypt’s history brought each site along the Nile to life. His guidance added immense value to the cruise route itself, turning already iconic destinations into unforgettable experiences. The public spaces and pool deck area aboard the ship were inviting and comfortable, providing ideal spots to relax, socialize, and take in the scenery as we sailed along the Nile. While there are many cruise options available, I would highly recommend CITY AND SEA ADONIS to anyone who wishes to truly experience the atmosphere of Egypt. The buffet was exceptional, offering a wonderful selection of Egyptian traditional dishes alongside international cuisine, all beautifully prepared and impressively abundant. To our delight, the crew celebrated my daughter’s and son’s birthdays with traditional Egyptian drumming and heartfelt live singing, creating a truly unforgettable and special moment for our family. The chef personally asked us about our dining experience at every meal, a thoughtful gesture that made us feel genuinely valued. La comida fue muy, muy rica, variada y de gran calidad, y el servicio a bordo fue siempre amable, atento y profesional. Todo el personal se preocupó genuinamente por que estuviéramos cómodos y disfrutando cada momento del viaje. Queremos destacar especialmente a nuestro guía Mohamed, que hablaba español perfecto, explicaba todo de manera muy clara y apasionada, y estuvo siempre pendiente de nosotros. Fue muy atento, organizado y se aseguró constantemente de que estuviéramos bien y disfrutando de cada excursión. Un punto realmente destacable fue el cuidado con la alimentación: viajamos con hermanas celíacas y con otras alergias, y el nivel de atención fue impresionante. El chef Atef se acercaba personalmente todas las noches para traerles comida preparada especialmente para ellas, cuidando cada detalle. He made every tour even more interesting and enlightening. Particularly, my sister and myself have food allergies, she has celiac disease and I am intolerant to gluten, dairy and eggs. Even so, the chef Atef was incredible in making our culinary experience amazing. He never failed to prepare different varieties of food on every occasion, always with a smile and great attitude. Ristorante ottimo.Exemplary Care and Service on a Fully Booked Aswan–Luxor Nile Cruise I highly recommend this cruise. I was on an Aswan–Luxor sailing in December 2025, spanning the New Year, and it was an excellent experience overall. Food was excellent, and the crew put on a special new year's eve dinner and party to match the celebratory occasion. The true highlight, however, was the crew’s and management’s care and attention to guest welfare. After checking into my cabin, I noticed a strong gas-like smell and alerted the crew. They promptly investigated and determined that it was caused by afternoon painting works, explaining that the odour would dissipate within a day. I have a sensitive nose, and when I asked about changing rooms, it understandably put them in a difficult position: it was super-peak season, and the ship was fully booked. I was prepared to make do and even considered spending the night in the salon, as we were leaving for Abu Simbel at 4am the next morning, anyway. What happened next was exceptional. The ship’s owner, who was on board, heard about the situation and personally approached me to apologise. He assured me that he would find a solution, even if it meant giving up a cabin allocated to his own family. In the end, the team managed to reassign me to another room, and the owner stayed up with the crew to ensure everything was resolved to my satisfaction before calling it a night. This hospitality and warmth was something that my travelling companions and I continued to experience over the next few days, and they went out of their way again to accommodate our late departure request on check-out day. Again, I emphasise that this was a completely full sailing during the super-peak season. The attention to detail, customer-centric mindset, and genuine commitment to making things right were truly exemplary. This would undoubtedly be be true of many good cruises in good times when everything goes to plan, but it is in the times when things don't go to plan that the excellent ones stand out. City & Sea Adonis stood out, and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone considering a Nile cruise. Our guide—a veteran Egyptologist who continues to supervise excavations of sites in the region—also remarked that this is one of the best cruise operators he has worked with, in an otherwise very crowded Nile cruise market.Top Nile Cruise We had a wonderful Nile cruise. From the warm welcome at Luxor airport to the very last minute on board, everything was perfectly organized. The entire staff is exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always smiling. The cabins are spacious, very clean, and equipped with large windows that can even be opened. The food in the restaurant was delicious and varied. We were invited to a kitchen tour and had the chance to meet the wonderful culinary team. Executive Chef Mr. Atef was always present and made sure we were well taken care of. A special thank you to the waiters Tarik, Ahmet, Mohamed, and Bar Manager Abdullah – always friendly, full of humor, and making our evenings fun (even joining us with dancing!). The selection of drinks is good, the prices are reasonable, and we really enjoyed the Egyptian beer as well as the red and white wine. Our cabin was cleaned daily, and Ali from housekeeping surprised us every day with creative towel animals. The jewelry shop on board is also worth a visit – we found beautiful silver pieces (don’t forget to bargain 😉). Whenever we had some free time between excursions, the sun deck with its pool offered breathtaking views of the Nile, local villages, and the surrounding nature. Truly unforgettable! En un mot, un seul, magnifique !!!Luxury for Less We didn't know what to expect when we were seaching for different cruises from Luxor to Aswan. Prices varied online from $80 to $1000 a night per person. After looking at all the reviews online and having free time in Luxor I physically went and looked at the ships docked. From the outside appearance they looked similar with the exception of the Viking Cruise line. The review that stood out the most was City & Sea Adonis. So we booked a 5 day and 4 nights for my wife and I. When we arrived every staff member greeted us with smiles. Omar checked us in and assisted me with wifi which was included in the price. Remember to turn off VPN if you are trying to login. Immediately we were greeted with welcome drinks and well dressed bell man carried our luggage up a grand staircase. When we opened the door we were shocked at the size of the room. With couches and chairs with a King sized bed. Spacious room and bathroom with a refrigerator and TV. We especially enjoyed meals on board. Every meal was exceptional. Every meal had something for everyone whether you are vegan or a carnivore. If you have a sweet tooth, desserts were awesome (typically around 14 different types to choose from) and fruit was available also. Head Chef and Assistant Head Chef were always on top of greeting and making sure you had an amazing dining experience. Hamdy was our main waiter with additional support staff to make sure our plates were cleared and that we had enough to drink. Always friendly and standing by making sure our glasses of water were full. Our cabin steward would have our room cleaned before we arrived back from breakfast. We would come back and be surprised by a different towel animal (crocodile) on our bed or hanging in our room (monkey). The upper deck pool area was very nice. This is where they would have afternoon tea. This included snacks. Evening events included a night of free drinks. Tonight was a belly dancer. I can't say enough about what a great memorable experience they provided. Whether celebrating an anniversary, birthday, retirement or a romantic get-a-way, this is the ship for traveling from Luxor to Aswan without breaking the bank. DavidViaggio imperdibile! Man wird täglich mit einem freundlichen Lächeln begrüßt. Manche sprechen sehr gut deutsch. Housekeeping staff with a sense of humour ( they arrange the towels in the shape of various animals one being a hanging monkey that surprises you as you unknowingly enter your room !! The kitchen staff with their head chef were the best. It was not just about making good meals but trying new things. So one our group members actually used their kitchen to prepare a chicken dish as we like it and she had all of them helping her and being at her service. They not only baked a birthday cake for one of our group member but all came out with it in a procession beating a drum and singing the most peppy songs in Arabic . The warmth and hospitality by the entire team of Adonis made our trip truly fun and memorable. Eine Nilkreuzfahrt auf diesem Schiff werde ich immer wieder weiterempfehlen, es war wirklich ein Traum. Sehr schöne Zimmer, mit riesigen Betten Das Essen war soooo gut, jeden Tag Mittags und Abends, Suppe, Vorspeisensalate, 4 verschiedene Hauptspeisgerichte, ein richtig schönes Buffet. Das Beste ist, man kann alles essen,da mit Flaschenwasser gekocht wird und alles selbst Brot und Gebäck wird am Schiff hergestellt, einfach Essen warauf man Lust hat, ohne nachdenken oder der Gefahr von Magenproblemen. Das Deck ist wirklich so schön wie auf den Fotos und der Pool ist immer schön frisch, bei der Hitze perfekt zum Abkühlen. Das einzige Manko vll - Liegen sind bei voll Belegung wahrscheinlich zu wenig. Zusätzlich sind alle Mitarbeiter vom Housekeeping über die Kellner bis zum Rezeptionisten äußerst höflich, zuvorkommen und immer stetts bemüht. Aja und wir konnten am Schiff die Küche besichtigen und den Kapitän besuchen, zusätzlich war das WLAN kostenlos und wir konnten von Vollpension auf All-inclusive aufzahlen und es ist alles dabei außer Sekt. Cocktails umd frisch gepresster Orangensaft am Pool echt Luxor. Ein richtig perfekter Urlaub Danke!!!!!

Es gibt eine große Bar .Auf Wunsch werden sogar Deutsche Lieder gespielt. Das hat mich doch etwas überrascht aber es war lustig. Es gibt Verschiedene Shows und gute Alkohol freihe (Auch mit Alkohol wenn gewünscht) Cocktails serviert. Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Viele Gemüse Gerichte aber es gibt auch Huhn und Rind . Für Naschkatzen ist auch gesorgt die Süßspeisen sind ausgezeichnet. Für jeden Geschmack Etwas. Das Personal räumt sovort das Geschirr ab es bleibt nichts stehen. Also ich bin und war zufrieden.
Un excellent séjour passé sur le bateau : personnel aux petits soins et sympathique , visites avec notre guide français très bien organisée qui nous fait découvrir la culture égyptienne et les grands sites d exception avec passion, il se préoccupe de savoir si tout va toujours bien pour nous et connait les bons plans et astuces pour que les visites se passent au mieux. Les passagers étaient plutôt des personnes plus âgées (nous avons 40 ans) mais nous y sommes sentis très à l aise et notre fille de 8 ans était traitée comme une princesse. Quand au restaurant, il était excellent , des produits de qualité et des recettes variées qui changent tous les jours, vous pouvez y manger les yeux fermés sans avoir peur de tomber malade. Petit clin d œil à notre serveur Ahmed 😉. L équipe nous a permis de quitter sereinement le bateau le dernier jour en nous accordant quelques attentions. Everyday we had informative tours with our Egyptologist guide Dr. Abdoul. We were able to explore a lot of different places throughout the 7 night trip. The company assisted me with customized days trips before and after the cruise in Cairo and Saqqara which were both amazing. On the ship I enjoyed their fun events including a nubian show, bellydancing, and holiday celebrations. They had a large variety of food options and every meal was delicious. The waiters and front desk staff were very attentive. The owner of the boat Mr. Ashraf was so helpful in anything needed the entire trip. From start to finish the trip felt very safe, well organized, and exciting each day. This was an unforgettable trip and I would recommend it as the best way to enjoy Egypt.

Mit Ankunft am 30.01.26 gegen 2:00 Uhr morgens kamen wir auf dem Nilkreuzfahrtschiff ADONIS an. Wir waren trotz Übermüdung erst einmal überwältigt. Auf den Zimmern ( sehr gut ausgestattet) fanden wir noch ein Nachtsnack vor. Der Service auf denm Schiff war immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Schiff ist sehr gepflegt, die Mannschaft sehr zuvorkommend, alle Fragen wurden stets sofort beantwortet. Betten sehr gut und groß, schönes Sonnendeck usw., also gute Erholung zwischen den anstrengenden Ausflügen gewährleistet. Danke dem Personal. Great rooms, awesome service. The food was excellent and they have a Top Chef contestant on the staff. Very elegant ship and cabins. Staff was extremely competent and helpful. The schedule can be a bit rough while trying to fit all the visits in but you can relax on the way back downriver. Eines der schönsten Erlebnisse in unserem Leben! Der Ablauf im Jänner 2026 war perfekt organisiert. Das Personal am Schiff unglaublich freundlich ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Das Essen immer frisch genau nach unserem Geschmack mit vielen Aromen die wir nicht kannten und es ist immer mehr als genug vorhanden. Es wird auch sehr auf Hygiene geachtet! Das Zimmer ist groß genug und das Bett ist riesig. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im Oberdeck, das natürlich teurer ist aber man hat auch in den beiden unteren Decks eine tolle Aussicht. Die Getränke sind zusätzlich zu bezahlen wobei der Preis für 1,5 Liter Wasser mit 55 Pfund und ein großes Glas, ich glaube 0,3 Liter, frisch gepresster O Saft für 160 Pfund. Herzlich, Peter und Claudia, ÖsterreichWir verbrachten eine wunderschöne Woche auf der City and Sea Adonis. Die Fahrt verlief sehr ruhig und entspannt. Jeden Tag wurden wir mit den Köstlichkeiten aus der Küche (Tarkan und seine Kollegen sind einfach spitze!) verwöhnt und das Servicepersonal hat uns jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen. Die Kabinen und die einzelnen Decks (Bar, Sonnendeck...) sind schön und immer sauber. Wir würden definitiv wieder kommen!

I stayed on the Adonis cruise for 4 nights, which were some of the best nights I had in Aswan and Luxor. First, the lobby is like a royal palace. The receptionists were extremely helpful. The Wi-Fi was very fast. And the food, most importantly the food on any cruise, was truly delicious. Lastly, I would like to thank Mr. Omar, Mr. Ahmed, and Mr. Mohamed at the reception. They did everything to satisfy the customer. Thank you very much. I rate this place five stars.I recommend it to any guest in Egypt.

Chef Atef made sure the food was five stars every day. We definitely gained weight as everything the kitchen made was amazing!! Truly, one of the most amazing experiences with the most hospitable crew! We had such a wonderful time as a family with a crew who felt like a family of our own. Chef Atef and his team gave us the most delicious homemade food three times a day! The only thing I have to complain about is gaining about 10 pounds ha ha ha. We had the most wonderful stay on the City and Sea Adonis River Cruise. Our guide, Dr. Abdoul, a professor at the local university, was incredibly insightful and knowledgeable, and we felt so lucky to learn so much about Egyptology from him. The owner of the boat clearly takes great care of both the onboard staff and the local services used during the trip, such as taxis and buses, which really shows in the overall experience. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the facilities on board were fantastic — including a pool on the top deck! We couldn’t recommend this cruise highly enough.
It was my first time taking a cruise on the Nile, and it was a wonderful experience. During the Nile Cruise I felt very comfortable on the ship. The staff was always very friendly and accommodating. Particularly noteworthy were the excellent dishes for lunch and dinner. I really enjoyed the meals. There was also always the possibility to try special Egyptian dishes, too. I did it with pleasure. The desserts were excellent and tempted to enjoy.Inmer wieder gerne ! Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist die ausgezeichnete Organisation der Reise: Alles verlief pünktlich, reibungslos und vollkommen stressfrei. Auch das gesamte Team an Bord war durchgehend freundlich, hilfsbereit und professionell. Ein ganz besonderes Lob geht an unseren Reiseführer Herrn Khalaf. Vom Empfang am Flughafen bis zur letzten Minute auf dem Schiff war alles perfekt organisiert. Das gesamte Team ist unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und immer mit einem Lächeln da. Die Kabinen sind groß, sauber und haben Fenster, die man sogar öffnen kann. Das Essen war sehr lecker und abwechslungsreich. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns der Executive Chef Mr. Atef, der immer präsent war. Die Kellner Tarik, Ahmet, Mohamed und Barchef Abdullah haben mit Humor und Herzlichkeit jeden Abend zu etwas Besonderem gemacht. Die Getränkepreise sind fair, und sowohl Bier als auch Wein haben gut geschmeckt. Ein großes Dankeschön auch an Ali vom Housekeeping für die täglichen Handtuchfiguren! Der Schmuckladen an Bord ist ebenfalls empfehlenswert – schöne Silbersachen zu guten Preisen (handeln lohnt sich 😉). Das Sonnendeck mit Pool bietet einen traumhaften Ausblick auf den Nil, die Natur und kleine Dörfer – einfach wunderschön. Unser Reiseleiter Khalaf war großartig: kompetent, freundlich und sehr engagiert. Wir haben viel über die Pharaonen und das moderne Ägypten gelernt. Wir können die Adonis von Herzen weiterempfehlen – es hat uns an nichts gefehlt!

5 stars is not enough to describe how amazing the employees are that represent City and Sea Adonis. Every aspect of this trip exceeded all expectations of a cruise ship experience and visit to Egypt. The wait staff (all the Ahmeds) were absolutely incredible. They set the bar for customer service. And speaking of bars, the bartenders Muhammed and Abdullah did an excellent job. The food was great and the chefs were very cool and fun. This leads us to why we all come to Egypt- the sites! Our local guide Ahmed Boghdady with 25 years experience was the highlight of the trip. He was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun to be around. Would definately recommend requesting him for the best trip to Egypt.Great service and guidance from all the crews and staff. We were very well taken care of. Highly recommended this cruise if you are visiting Aswan/Luxor!Wir haben eine herrliche Woche auf dem Schiff verbracht.
