Upon your arrival at Luxor Airport or Luxor Train Station, you will be greeted by our professional staff representative who will be waiting for you, holding a welcome sign with your name. You will then be transferred to the City and Sea Adonis Nile Cruise Ship by a private air-conditioned vehicle. If you do not require transportation, you can board the ship directly. Once on board, check-in and enjoy a delightful meal. Later in the afternoon, explore the ancient splendors of Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple, returning to the ship for a delicious dinner. Enjoy your first night aboard, docked under the stars of Luxor.

Awaken to a sumptuous breakfast before exploring Luxor’s marvels, including the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. Upon Arrival on Thursday in Luxor Airport

Journey across the vast southern Egyptian desert to visit one of the most awe-inspiring monuments ever built. The colossal rock-cut temples of Abu Simbel, created by Ramesses II over 3,000 years ago, rise dramatically from the shores of Lake Nasser, in a setting that feels like the edge of the world. Departing before dawn from Aswan in a premium air-conditioned vehicle, you arrive just as the first golden light of morning illuminates the faces of the four towering statues.

The excursion includes your private transfer, admission ticket, Egyptologist guide, and all registrations and permits.

5th Day, Monday (Early Morning). Aswan City to Abu Simbel (by road)
Duration: ~3.5 hours by AC premium vehicle

Enjoy a sunrise visit to the legendary rock-cut temples of Ramesses II, reached by early morning flight. The full experience lasts approximately 5–6 hours, including all transfers, airport procedures, flights, and the guided temple visit.

The day begins with a transfer from the cruise ship to Aswan Airport (around 1 hour), followed by check-in, security, and boarding. The flight to Abu Simbel takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival, meet the local representative and transfer to the temple complex for a guided 2-hour visit. Afterwards, return to Abu Simbel Airport for the 45-minute flight back to Aswan, then transfer to your cruise ship (around 30 minutes).

4th Day, Sunday (Afternoon). Aswan City, Nubian Village
Duration: ~2–3 hours

Explore one of Egypt’s finest and most beautifully presented museums, featuring a curated collection of New Kingdom artifacts, royal mummies, and magnificent statues recovered from Karnak and Luxor temples. Away from the crowds of Cairo, this intimate museum offers a refined, unhurried experience, with every piece displayed with extraordinary care.

The excursion includes your admission ticket, private transfer to and from the ship, and Egyptologist guide throughout. Fully air-conditioned, it is an ideal midday retreat.

Enter the most famous tomb in the world. Discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter, the tomb of Tutankhamun captivated the world and sparked a fascination with ancient Egypt that continues today. The walls are decorated with vivid scenes of the afterlife, and the royal mummy of the boy pharaoh remains in the burial chamber exactly as it was laid over 3,300 years ago.

This tomb is not included with the standard Valley of the Kings ticket and requires a special admission ticket, available only by booking this optional add-on in advance. The excursion price fully covers your special ticket. Daily visitor numbers are strictly limited, and photography is not permitted inside. Early booking is strongly recommended to secure your place.

2nd Day, Friday (Morning). Luxor City, Valley of the Kings
Duration: ~20–30 minutes

Widely regarded as the most beautiful tomb in the entire Valley of the Kings, this is the longest and most elaborately decorated royal tomb, featuring breathtaking ceiling paintings of the heavens and walls covered in perfectly preserved hieroglyphic inscriptions. Egyptologists and travelers alike consider it the single most spectacular tomb in the Valley, and standing inside, you’ll understand why.

This tomb is not included with the standard Valley of the Kings ticket and requires a special admission ticket, available only by booking this optional add-on in advance. We understand that plans can change. Cancellations must be made in writing by email to online@cityandseaadonis.com. Refunds are calculated from your trip start (check-in) date and are returned to your original payment method.

30 days or more before check-in: 85% refund (15% cancellation fee).
29 to 15 days before check-in: 75% refund (25% cancellation fee).
14 to 3 days before check-in: 50% refund (50% cancellation fee).
Within 48 hours of check-in, or no-show: no refund (100% cancellation fee).

Arrival & Departure Guidelines

We recommend booking your flight to arrive in Luxor before eleven in the morning. This time refers to your landing at Luxor Airport, not the time you reach the ship. Our representative will meet you at the airport with a welcome sign, assist with your luggage, and transfer you directly to the Nile cruise ship. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed at reception for check-in and offered a refreshing welcome drink. Once everything is completed, it’s usually around one in the afternoon – the perfect time for your cabin to be ready so we can hand you the keys and you can settle in comfortably.

Arriving earlier at Luxor Airport, whether at dawn or in the early morning, is absolutely fine. Our complimentary pick-up service operates twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and we’ll be there to welcome you. Please note that while you’ll be able to board the ship upon arrival, your cabin may not be ready before one in the afternoon. In that case, you’re welcome to relax in the reception area and enjoy the ship’s amenities until your room is available. If your cabin is ready earlier, we’ll gladly give you access right away. However, if the ship is full and the previous guest hasn’t yet checked out, we’ll need to wait until housekeeping has cleaned and prepared the room before you can enter.

If you have the optional Abu Simbel excursion booked, we recommend scheduling your flight from Aswan on the last day, Monday, after four in the afternoon. This timing ensures you can fully enjoy the morning visit to Abu Simbel, which finishes around twelve noon, while still having a smooth journey to your departure point. After the tour, we’ll return to the ship for checkout and luggage collection, then provide a direct complimentary transfer to Aswan Airport. By scheduling your departure after four in the afternoon, you’ll have plenty of time for check-in and security at the airport without any rush, guaranteeing you make your flight comfortably and on time.

If you don’t have Abu Simbel booked, you may schedule your departure from Aswan for any time on Monday – morning, midday, or afternoon. Please note that cabin checkout is at ten in the morning, so you’ll need to vacate your room by then. However, you’re welcome to stay in the reception area or enjoy the ship’s amenities until it’s time for your transfer to the airport.

What is City and Sea Adonis?

City and Sea Adonis is a luxury Nile cruise ship offering an unforgettable journey between Luxor and Aswan. What is the Horus Holiday package?

The Horus Holiday is a luxurious 4-night, 5-day fully guided Nile cruise aboard the five-star City and Sea Adonis, sailing between Luxor and Aswan. Guided by a certified Egyptologist, you discover the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk, the temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu, Karnak and Luxor Temples, the Valley of the Kings and more, while enjoying full-board dining, all-inclusive drinks, and deluxe accommodation. Named after Horus, the falcon-headed sky god of ancient Egypt, it is the perfect balance of sightseeing and relaxation.

Where does the cruise sail, and where is the ship?

Your cruise sails from Luxor to Aswan, stopping at key sites along the Nile. You board at the ship’s home port in Luxor, on the Corniche al-Nile directly in front of the Aracan Eatabe Luxor Hotel and a short distance from Luxor Temple, and disembark in Aswan.

On which days can I check in and check out?

Check-in for the 4-night cruise is on Thursdays in Luxor, at our harbour in front of the Aracan Eatabe Luxor Hotel, and you disembark in Aswan on the Monday. Over the cruise the ship sails between Luxor and Aswan, stopping at the key sites along the way. A Google Maps link to the harbour is in our footer.

Does this package include all-inclusive drinks?

Yes. This package, like every cruise package on our website, includes all-inclusive drinks at no extra cost. Aboard the City and Sea Adonis you can enjoy unlimited water, soft drinks, and local alcoholic beverages throughout the ship, in the restaurant, the lounge, on the sundeck, and in your cabin. It is automatically included for everyone who books online, with no upgrade or extra charge.

Can you tell me more about the complimentary pick-up service?

Guests who book their Nile cruise online through cityandseaadonis.com enjoy a complimentary private pick-up and drop-off service. We collect you from Luxor Airport or Luxor train station on arrival and take you straight to the ship, and at the end of your cruise we transfer you to your departure point in Luxor or Aswan (airport or train station). This exclusive service is available only for guests who book through our official website.

Is full board included?

Yes. Every guest enjoys full board on the cruise, breakfast, lunch, and dinner served daily, featuring a variety of Egyptian and international cuisine, plus afternoon tea on the sundeck.

Is there Wi-Fi on board?

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship, including the cabins and all communal areas, so you can stay connected during your cruise.

Are flight tickets included?

No, flight tickets are not included in this package.

What kind of cabins does the cruise offer?

The City and Sea Adonis offers a range of accommodation to suit every traveler. Most guests choose a Deluxe Cabin (22 m²) with a French balcony, available for single, double, or triple occupancy. The ship also has two exclusive suites, a Junior Suite (42 m²) and a Royal Suite (72 m²), plus dedicated family cabins. A shared double or triple cabin is the most cost-effective option per person, while a single cabin offers complete privacy. Are the excursions included in the price of the Horus Holiday package?

Yes, every program and excursion listed in the ‘included’ section is covered in the price and guided by an expert Egyptologist in your chosen language (English, German, French, Spanish, or Italian). Optional on-site excursions, such as Abu Simbel, can be added for an extra fee.

What languages can your Egyptologist guide speak?

When you click ‘Book Now’, you will choose your preferred language. We currently offer guided tours in English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. If you need another language, email us and we will do our best to arrange it.

Is the Abu Simbel excursion included?

No, Abu Simbel is not included by default. It is available as an optional add-on for $180 per person when you click ‘Book Now’, and can also be arranged on board once you arrive. It is one of our most popular excursions, so we recommend adding it early.

Can I bring my children on the cruise?

Yes, City and Sea Adonis is family-friendly and welcomes all ages. Children aged 0–5 stay free of charge in their parents’ cabin, children aged 6–11 pay 50% of the adult rate, and guests aged 12 and over are charged at the adult rate.

Who operates and manages the City and Sea Adonis?

City and Sea Adonis is operated by City and Sea Hotel Management, part of the family-run City and Sea Travel Group. The group provides comprehensive tourism services across Egypt and includes City and Sea Travel (our Cairo-based travel agency), City and Sea Hotel Management (which runs the ship), and City and Sea Services, our Berlin-based European arm.
